Mississippi Choctaws to share casino revenues

printer friendly

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians will share revenue from an off-reservation casino with local governments, Miko Beasley Denson said on Thursday.

Denson said the tribe will share 4 percent of gross revenue. That's the same amount commercial casinos pay, The Biloxi Sun Herald reported.

The tribe wants to build the casino in Ocean Springs, more than 200 miles from the reservation. Jackson County voters will weigh the proposal in a non-binding referendum this November.
