Mashantucket Tribe won't negotiate with union

printer friendly
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut won't negotiate with a union that is representing card dealers at the Foxwoods Resort Casino

The United Auto Workers had asked the tribe to negotiate a bargaining agreement after the National Labor Relations Board certified the union's status earlier this month. The union is the first to organize at a tribal casino under a NLRB election

The tribe's general counsel responded yesterday and said the union should seek to organize under tribal law. Attorney Jackson King said the tribe will seek legal review of the NLRB's actions.
