Pechanga Band makes $30.8M payment to state

The Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians made a $30.8 million compact payment to the state of California on Wednesday.

The tribe's Class III compact was approved by voters in February. It allows the tribe to add more slot machines in exchange for sharing revenues with the state.

The tribe can operate a total of 7,500 slot machines at the Pechanga Resort Casino.
