Letter: Unions can't trump tribal sovereignty

printer friendly
"In response to The Norwich Bulletin July 12 article, I take issue and disagree with the United Auto Workers , National Labor Relations Board and Connecticut attorney general in stating the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, owners of Foxwoods Resort Casino, must accept and negotiate with the union.

The U.S. Congress granted the Indians sovereignty, meaning an autonomous state does exist in control for the reservation.

This valid ruling thus creates an environment of absolute rule and final word, per Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.

Do the union and labor board have their own dictionary version?"
