California county weighs gaming referendum

printer friendly
Supervisors in Butte County, California, are considering a referendum that asks voters about future tribal casinos.

The county is suing the National Indian Gaming Commission in hopes of blocking the Mechoopda Tribe from building a casino. The county is already home to two casinos and other tribes have proposed casinos.

If approved by the county board of supervisors, the referendum would appear on the November 4 ballot.
