Sycuan Band's liquor license sees opposition

printer friendly
The Sycuan Band of Kumeyaay Indians faces opposition to its application to serve liquor at the Sycuan Resort

The tribe is the only one in San Diego County without a liquor license. A prior application was rejected in 1993 over concerns about safety on remote highways near the casino.

The tribe is proposing to limit sales but the county board of supervisors, the sheriff's department and a local planning group are again raising objections. Formal protests have to be filed with the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control by Thursday.
