Seneca Nation wants NIGC to appeal casino decision

printer friendly

The Seneca Nation of New York wants the National Indian Gaming Commission to stay a notice of violation against its off-reservation casino.

The tribe says the NIGC should stay the NOV in order to appeal a judge's decision that called the casino illegal. The tribe says the NIGC has until October 14 to pursue an appeal.

The tribe is not a party to the case, which was filed by opponents of the Buffalo Creek Casino in downtown Buffalo. Opponents want the casino closed immediately.
