NIGC asked to shut down Seminole casinos

printer friendly
Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum is asking the National Indian Gaming Commission to stop the Seminole Tribe from offering Class III games.

McCollum says the tribe can't offer slot machines and table games without a valid tribal-state compact. The Florida Supreme Court struck down the agreement in July.

''The tribe has brazenly continued its illegal Class III gaming based on its belief that there will be no meaningful federal enforcement actions,'' McCollum told the NIGC in a letter, The Miami Herald reported.

The tribe's compact was approved by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
