Saginaw Chippewa casino doing well after a year

printer friendly

The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe has become the second-largest employer in Arenac County, Michigan, with its newest casino.

The Saganing Eagles Landing Casino opened a year ago. The facility employs 314 people, second only to the state prison, which has 330 employees.

"At this point, we're not the largest employer in the county, it's the prison. But trust me, it's my goal to beat that," spokesperson Frank Cloutier told The Bay City Times.

The casino brings in an estimated $55 million on slot machines alone.
