printer friendly
Groups on both sides of the Internet gaming debate are spending big in Washington, D.C., this year.

The Poker Players Alliance spent $430,000 in the first three months of the year while the Interactive Gaming Council spent $768,500. Both groups want to repeal the existing ban on Internet gaming.

The National Football League has spent $440,000 during the same time. The NFL opposes Internet gaming.

The lobbying comes as Rep. Barney Frank (D-Massachusetts), the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, pushes a bill to ease the ban on Internet gaming. He believe support is growing for H.R.2267, the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act.
