Mashantucket Tribe gains new casino partner

printer friendly
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut has gained another partner in its bid to operate a state-owned casino in Kansas.

The tribe just added Lakes Entertainment Inc. to the $225 million proposed Chisholm Creek Casino Resort. South Central Gaming Partners recently joined the effort as well.

"Hopefully, the development would be more on the fast track that way," Ed Van Petten, the executive director of the Kansas Lottery, told the Associated Press of the new partnership.

Initially, six companies submitted applications to the Lottery to operate two casinos.
