Oregon group targets smoking at tribal casinos

printer friendly
The American Lung Association of Oregon is asking Gov. Ted Kulongoski (D) to renegotiate the tribal-state compact to ban smoking at Indian gaming facilities.

The state's indoor smoking ban went into effect on June 1. The group says tribal casinos should abide by health standards that are comparable to the state's.

The letter was written by an attorney whose law firm represents the Oregon Restaurant Association, whose members are subject to the indoor smoking ban.
