Letter: Ex-Coushatta lawyer's ties to gaming

printer friendly
"In the past, as a member of Citizens for Quality Life, I helped vote out gambling in our area because of the negative effect it has on the business economy and the tragic impact it has on families that can least afford it.

Jimmy Faircloth says he doesn't believe in gambling, but he doesn't mention that he's made big bucks from organized gambling.

Faircloth says he doesn't believe in or support gambling, but he doesn't mind making hundreds of thousands of dollars off gambling money.

The Coushattas make an estimated $300 million a year from their casino in southern Louisiana.

Faircloth seems to be able to set aside his beliefs on gambling if the money is right."
