Coquille casino affected by city's lawsuit

printer friendly
The Coquille Tribe of Oregon could lose services at the Mill Casino in a dispute with the city of North Bend.

The tribe entered into an agreement with the city for police, fire and sewer services at the casino. The tribe has been making payments for the last 15 years but says the deal is unfair.

The city sued the tribe in state court, saying the tribe has failed to make recent payments. The city also says the tribe hasn't turned over hotel room taxes for people who stay at the casino.

The tribe is seeking to have the cased moved to federal court.
