Mohegan Tribe seeks to restructure casino debt

The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is joining the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation in seeking to restructure debt associated with its gaming enterprise.

The tribe plans to restructure nearly $200 million in debt, The New London Day reported. The move came as the tribe announced a big drop in gaming income -- between 20 percent and 23 percent -- over the last fiscal year.

The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority operates Mohegan Sun in Connecticut and Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, a commercial casino in Pennsylvania.
