Forest County Potawatomi Tribe sees casino hit

printer friendly

The Forest County Potawatomi Tribe of Wisconsin has cut holiday bonuses and merit pay increases and has eliminated employee perks at its casino in Milwaukee.

People are still coming to the Potawatomi Bingo Casino but they are spending less, according to general manager Mike Goodrich. "The lasting recession has had a devastating impact on everyone," he wrote in a memo obtained by The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

The tribe is also cutting per capita payments. "If you don't have the revenue, you can't spend it," a source told the paper.

Despite the cuts, revenue was apparently up 9.5 percent in the last fiscal year, according to figures examined by the paper.
