San Pasqual Band now offers maximum 2,000 slots

The San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians of California is finally operating 2,000 slot machines at the Valley View Casino.

The tribe signed a Class III gaming compact in 1999 that promised up to 2,000 slot machines. But the California Gambling Control Commission imposed a statewide cap that limited the tribe to about 1,600 machines.

The San Pasqual Band added more machines after tribes won a lawsuit that forced the state to lift the cap and follow the 1999 compact.
