Former Congressman pushes 'tribal' casino in Ohio

printer friendly
Former Congressman James A. Traficant Jr. (D), who just got out of federal prison after serving seven years on bribery and racketeering charges, is backing a "tribal" casino somewhere in Ohio.

Traficant started a new business and is working with the Tribal Associates Group of Provo, Utah and the Indigenous Tribal Affiliates of Native America to build a $100 million casino. "This is a very worthy project,” said Traficant, The Youngstown Business Journal reported. "It’s not just a casino, but it will be a resort complex as well."

The Indigenous Tribal Affiliates do not have federal recognition. Traficant said the group is an amalgamation of Native Americans.
