Connecticut tribes to testify at hearing on keno plan

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Representatives of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe will testify at a hearing next Tuesday, March 2, on a proposal to legalize keno in Connecticut.

The tribes in the past have said keno could violate their Class III gaming compact. But Gov. M. Jodi Rell (R) has revived the proposal, saying it would generate revenues for the state.

The compact requires the tribes to share 25 percent of slot machine revenues with the state.
