Pataki plans to settle with Seneca-Cayuga Tribe

New York Gov. George Pataki (R) is close to a deal with the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma, The Albany Times-Union reports.

The tribe would be allowed to open a casino in Rochester and a smaller facility on Cayuga Lake, the paper said. The tribe would also share in a $247.9 million payment with the Cayuga Nation.

The Seneca-Cayuga Tribe and the Cayuga Nation are parties to a 64,000-acre land claim. Pataki announced a deal with the Cayuga Nation two weeks ago.
