Kerry's sister campaigns on Montana reservations

The sister of Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry (Massachusetts) campaigned on two Montana reservations on Monday.
Diana Kerry met with tribal leaders and members on the Crow Reservation and Northern Cheyenne Reservation. According to The Billings Gazette, she said Kerry supports tribal sovereignty. She also emphasized veterans, the economy, education and health care but couldn't address specific tribal issues, the paper said.
Carl Venne, chairman of the Crow Tribe, said the Bush administration is trying to "do away" with reservations. Noting that 52 young men and women from the tribe are serving in Iraq, he said the U.S. needs to "reconstruct the Indian reservations."
