County investigates shooting on Pechanga land

Sheriff's deputies in Riverside County, California, are investigating a shooting on the Pechanga Reservation that could be linked to the tribe's disenrollment campaign.

One shot was fired into the home of Ron and Bobbi LaMere on January 6. Ron LaMere believes his home may have been targeted because Bobbie LaMere is chairwoman of the tribe's enrollment committee, The Riverside Press-Enterprise reported.

The panel recently ejected 130 members of a large extended family. The dispute prompted a lawsuit that a state judge has agreed to hear.
