Churchill to speak for school's Native Pride Week

Controversial professor Ward Churchill has been cleared to speak at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's Native Pride Week.

Churchill, a professor at the University of Colorado, was invited to speak before the fury over his 9/11 essay erupted. He is scheduled to talk about racism against Native Americans on March 1.

Churchill claims Cherokee heritage although at other times he claimed Creek and Cree ancestry, according to news reports. He is not enrolled in any tribe.
