University of Oregon cancels Churchill appearance

The University of Oregon has canceled an appearance by controversial University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill.

The school originally invited CU ethnic studies professor Natsu Saito to the conference on race and immigration issues in the post-September 11 era. Saito then asked if Churchill, her husband, could be invited.

The school agreed, not knowing the two were married. After controversy surfaced about Churchill's 9/11 essay, officials decided to cancel.
