Grandson of late Blackfeet leader killed at party
Tuesday, April 26, 2005

Fernandel Omeasoo Jr., the 17-year-old grandson of the late Blackfeet spiritual leader George Kicking Woman, was fatally stabbed at a party in Montana.

Omeasoo and his family came from Canada to the Blackfeet Reservation to attend Kicking Woman's funeral. It was during this time that Omeasoo went to visit his aunt at a party off the reservation in Cut Bank. He was stabbed shortly after arriving there on Friday night.

Two female suspects fled to the reservation and have since been arrested in connection with the crime. They are being held by the Bureau of Indian Affairs awaiting transfer to local authorities.
