Five people banished over drug problems, violence
Friday, April 29, 2005

The Grand Rapids First Nation of Manitoba has banished five people due to drug problems and violence.

A council member said drug abuse is taking its toll on the reserve. "Over the last few years, the drug trade has been getting out of hand," Ken Cook told CBC News.

Tribes in Canada and the U.S. have banished people for drug use and for suspected involvement in gangs.
