Red Lake High graduates largest class ever

The high school on the Red Lake Ojibwe Reservation in Minnesota graduated 92 seniors on Saturday, the largest class in its history.
Hundreds reportedly attended the Red Lake High School ceremony. Vernelle Lussier, the valedictorian, homecoming queen and prom queen, told students to "look for answers, not for blame" in response to the fatal March 21 shootings at the school.
"Just as our class motto states, 'Behind us our memories, besides us our friends, before us our dreams, which will never end,'" she said in her speech, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.
Tee Harris, whose one B grade kept him from being valedictorian, said dealing with the shootings has been tough but that the tribe has persevered. "The future of Red Lake is good," he told the paper. "We have to keep pushing on. This is our kingdom."
In related news, a Connecticut philanthropic organization has donated 215 used personal computers to the Red Lake school district to replace ones that were seized by the FBI as part its investigation into the shootings.
