Ho-Chunk Nation brings boxing to Chicago suburb
Wednesday, June 1, 2005

An estimated 2,000 people turned out for the first night of boxing at a sports complex in suburban Chicago owned by the Ho-Chunk Nation.

The bout at the Ho-Chunk Southland Sports and Expo Center was broadcast by ESPN 2. Tribal and local officials say the event is indicative of the tribe's commitment to Lynwood.

The tribe, based in Wisconsin, has proposed a casino on the site but says it will go ahead with other development even if gaming is not approved.
