SagChip leader feels vindicated on Jack Abramoff

The subchief of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan says he feels vindicated by the investigation into disgraced lobbyists Jack Abramoff and Michael Scanlon.

Subchief Bernie Sprague opposed the tribe's hiring of Abramoff and Scanlon. Under a previous chief, the tribe gave the pair over $14 million.

Sprague, who testified at a November 17 Senate Indian Affairs Committee hearing into the scandal, said investigators continue to look at the tribe's ties to the men. One more hearing by the committee is planned.
