Abramoff cut Ralph Reed off from Choctaw money

Disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff funneled money from his tribal clients to Republican activist Ralph Reed but cut him off in 2002, CNN reports.
Abramoff used Mississippi Choctaw funds to help Reed in his bid to become chairman of the Georgia Republican party. The tribe said it did not authorize the expenditure.
Later, $1.2 million in Choctaw funds found its way to Reed in order to defeat anti-gambling proposals in Alabama. But by this time, Abramoff decided his friend didn't deserve any more tribal money.
"He is a bad version of us! No more money for him," Abramoff wrote in an e-mail to Michael Scanlon, his partner.
