Utah 'Utes' among the names on NCAA's mascot hit list

The University of Utah is still deciding what to do with its "Utes" nickname in light of the new NCAA policy on Indian mascots.

President Michael Young said the school doesn't want to change its name. He said the Ute Tribe has given its permission to use the "Utes" mascot.

Tribal leaders and tribal members in Utah agree. They say their views should have been taken into account before the NCAA issued the policy last week.

The school uses a drum and feather as its logo.
