Arizona tribe and city work together on tourism
Friday, August 19, 2005

The Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and the city of Fountain Hills are working together to promote tourism as the tribe beefs up its economy.

The tribe recently opened an RV center, bought a resort and has plans to expand its existing casino and hotel. Meanwhile, Fountain Hills has seen an increase in hotel rooms and other development.

Working together, the tribe and the city hope to attract more people to the area. The reservation is located on the outskirts of the metro Phoenix.

The tribe also has hired a public relations firm to promote the tribe.
