Ad campaign highlights Rep. Ney's ties to Abramoff

A liberal group called the Campaign for America's Future [Web Site] is debuting print ads that highlight Rep. Bob Ney's ties to the Jack Abramoff scandal and indicted former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas).

Ney, a Republican from Ohio, has been closely liked to the scandal. According to federal investigators, he accepted "things of value" in exchange for public acts that benefited clients of Abramoff and Michael Scanlon, who is cooperating with the probe.

Ney has hired a criminal defense attorney as part of the investigation. He has been informed that a possible bribery case is being prepared against him, according to The Washington Post.
