Billy Mills to help tribes cover heating costs
Monday, December 19, 2005

Running Strong for American Indian Youth, a national organization founded by Olympic gold medalist Billy Mills, is helping two tribes cover heating costs for tribal members.

Running Strong will be providing matching funds to the Oglala Sioux Tribe and the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. The tribes will receive $75,000 in total.

Officials say the money will go a long way. Members of both tribes have been hit with high heating costs during a particularly harsh winter.

Running Strong has been providing money to the Oglala Sioux Tribe for nine years and to the e Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe for four years.
