Prosecutor targets DeLay trip funded by Choctaws

The Texas prosecutor who secured an indictment against former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) subpoenaed records related to a European trip DeLay took with disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, one that was partially funded by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
DeLay, his wife, Abramoff and other Abramoff associates went to Scotland in May 2000. DeLay reported that the trip was sponsored by the National Center for Public Policy Research.
But it turns out that the Choctaws and eLottery, a non-Indian gaming company, footed the bill. Both were trying to kill an Internet gaming bill, and DeLay's position was crucial.
Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle has previously subpoenaed the Choctaws for records related to donations the tribe made to DeLay's political action committee.
