Editorial: Racial injustice in South Dakota
Monday, May 15, 2006

"A federal appeals court has reinstated a Native American voting-rights lawsuit against the city of Martin, with two key points:

# It's clear from "the absence of Native American aldermen, combined with evidence of racially polarized voting" that there are problems.

# If districts need to be redrawn, "the city should get a chance to do so."

Both points make perfect sense."
