Judge wants answers on Native protest in Canada
Friday, June 2, 2006

A judge in Ontario called Native protesters, non-Natives and the Canadian government into court on Thursday to explain the ongoing situation in Caledonia

The judge wanted to know why an order he issued against the protesters is not being enforced. Tribal members from the Six Nations Reserve have been occupying a construction site since February 28.

The Canadian government said it shouldn't get involved. But the judge suggested top officials have a responsibility to appear.
