Another aide to Rep. Ney subpoenaed for probe
Tuesday, July 11, 2006

Another aide to embattled Rep. Bob Ney (R-Ohio), under fire for his ties to Jack Abramoff, has been hit with a subpoena.

John Bennett is the second Ney aide to be subpoena to testify in the Department of Justice's ongoing probe. Ney was also subpoenaed.

According to federal prosecutors, Ney agreed to help Abramoff's tribal clients, including the Tigua Tribe of Texas, with legislative and other matters. He received campaign contributions, an expensive overseas trip, meals and other things of value, prosecutors say.
