Navajo Democrat upset over Renzi 'endorsement'

Arizona State Sen. Albert Hale, a Democrat and member of the Navajo Nation, wants Rep. Renzi (R) to apologize after Renzi's campaign falsely claimed Hale's endorsement.
On September 18, Renzi included Hale's name on a
list of "55 Democrat Elected Officials" who support him over Democrat Ellen Simon. That didn't sit well with Hale, who officially endorsed Simon at a rally last week.
Renzi reportedly removed Hale's name from the list. But Hale claims Renzi's campaign falsely labeled him as a felon when he complained.
"All of the Navajo people know I am not a convicted felon. Albert Hale knows Albert Hale is not a convicted felon," Hale said at the rally, The Gallup Independent reported.
Arizona's 1st Congressional District includes parts of the Navajo Nation. Hale served as president of the tribe and resigned after being accused of misusing tribal funds and accepting gifts from companies seeking tribal business. He was never convicted of any wrongdoing.
