Joe Garcia, the president of the National Congress of American Indians, will deliver the 5th annual State of Indian Nations address on Thursday.

The speech comes two days after President Bush's State of the Union. Garcia attended the event as a guest of Rep. Dale Kildee (D-Michigan).

"We continue to be supportive to this country and realize the significance of building proactive relationships with members of Congress and the administration," said Garcia, a council member for Ohkay Owingeh in New Mexico.

The speech takes place at 12pm in the First Amendment Lounge of the National Press Club. A live broadcast will be available at http://pressclub.tv/webcast/stateofindiannations/012507.
