Seminole Tribe to host Boys & Girls Club summit
Thursday, February 8, 2007

The Seminole Tribe of Florida is hosting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's fourth annual Native American Summit on February 13-15.

The three-day event is part of a nationwide effort to develop and strengthen the Boys & Girls Clubs in Indian Country. More than 125,000 Indian children belong to the 200-plus clubs that are located on reservations.

"Hope and opportunity are available to each child who attends a Boys & Girls Club in Indian Country," said Ron Gurley, the chairman of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Native American National Advisory Committee. "Tens of thousands of our young people are getting a chance, on an even playing field, to exercise their talents and abilities."

The meeting will be held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood. Featured speakers include: Seminole Chairman Mitchell Cypress and Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr.
