Bad Eagle questions Comanche ancestry of actor
Wednesday, March 28, 2007

David Yeagley, the conservative commentator who runs the Bad Eagle site, says the main star of "Apocalypto" is not Indian.

Yeagley, who has faced questions about his own ancestry, says actor Rudy Youngblood has falsely claimed to be Comanche. "He has no Indian blood in him that anyone can validate," Yeagley told The Los Angeles Times.

Youngblood says he was adopted by late Preston Tahchawwickah, a well-known Comanche man. The Comanche Nation acknowledges Youngblood isn't enrolled but says he has Comanche blood.

"I am Comanche. I'm not going to go into names. My tribe knows it. That is all that needs to be said," Youngblood told The Times.

Youngblood says his biological mother is Comanche and his biological father is Yaqui. His mother told The Times she is Comanche.

However, some members of the Tahchawwickah family do not consider Youngblood to be a relative.
