Northern Arapaho Tribe plans bison restoration
Thursday, April 12, 2007

The Northern Arapaho Tribe of Wyoming is planning to restore bison on the Wind River Reservation.

The tribe wants to establish a herd of 300 bison on the Arapaho Ranch. The tribe will start off with 20 animals this October.

As part of the effort, the tribe is seeking a $175,000 grant from the Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust Fund to place 75 miles of fence around the 32,000-acre site.
