California tribes seek removal of Klamath dams

Representatives of the Yurok Tribe, the Hoopa Valley Tribe and the Karuk Tribe are on their way to Nebraska to ask billionaire Warren Buffett to remove four dams on the Klamath River.

Buffett recently purchased PacifiCorp, which operates the four dams. The tribes are going to a shareholders meeting of Berkshire Hathaway, Buffett's company, to seek removal of the dams.

The tribes stopped in Salt Lake City on Tuesday to stage a demonstration at the headquarters of Rocky Mountain Power, a PacifiCorp business. The tribes say the dams are destroying the environment and hurting runs of salmon.
