Pueblo woman helps police nab sex offender

A Santo Domingo Pueblo woman helped police in Santa Fe, New Mexico, arrest a sex offender who is accused of taking photographs up women’s skirts and may be linked to other incidents against women.
Connie Coriz, a jewelry vendor who works under the Palace of the Governors portal downtown, noticed Toby Griego following three girls. She saw him take pictures under their dresses with a digital camera.
"I saw him, and he was really looking at those girls. I said I’m going to go tell on this pervert," Coriz told The Santa Fe New Mexican.
At one point, another vendor made some remarks to Griego, who then took off. Coriz found a police officer, who arrested Griego after a short pursuit. Police recovered the digital camera and found other evidence at Griego's home.
“I thought he would put them on the Internet or something, so that’s why I decided to tell the cops,” Coriz said. “I would have been mad if that was my daughter.”
Police called the arrest significant because Griego, a convicted rapist, may be linked to other acts of violence against women. They also said he may be of interest in a 1998 unsolved homicide.
