Aquash murder defendant loses extradition appeal

A Canadian man accused of murdering American Indian Movement activist Anna Mae Pictou Aquash can be extradited to the United States, a Canadian court said on Tuesday.
John Graham, a Native man from the Yukon Territory, is charged with killing Aquash on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota in late 1975. Aquash was Mi'kmaq from Nova Scotia.
Graham was taken into custody after the decision was announced because his home arrest ran out. He
could appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada, one of his lawyers said.
Another man, Arlo Looking Cloud, was found guilty of Aquash's murder. He was sentenced to life in prison.
