Aquash murder defendant appeals extradition

A Canadian man accused of murdering American Indian Movement activist Anna Mae Pictou-Aquash is taking his extradition fight to Canada's Supreme Court.

John Graham, a Native from the Yukon Territories, is charged in the U.S. for the slaying of Aquash in late 1975. On June 26, he lost his attempt to block extradition.

Aquash was Mi'kmaq from Nova Scotia. She was killed on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Arlo Looking Cloud, a Lakota man, was found guilty of her murder.
