Senate Indian Affairs sets hearing on recognition

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee will hold a hearing next Wednesday, September 19, on federal recognition.

The hearing is the committee's first since the August recess. A witness list has not been made public.

The committee has so far approved one recognition bill since the start of the 110th Congress. The Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act is being held up on the Senate floor.
