Indian Affairs Committee meeting and hearing

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee held a business meeting and an oversight hearing this morning.

The business meeting lasted about 8 and a half minutes. The committee considered and approved the following bills and approved the nominees for the IAIA board:

• S. 2087, the Native American Omnibus Technical Corrections Act of 2007
S. 2062, the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Reauthorization Act of 2007
S. 1779, the Tribal Health Promotion and Tribal Colleges and Universities Advancement Act of 2007
S. 1347, a bill to amend the Omnibus Indian Advancement Act to modify the date as of which certain tribal land of the Lytton Rancheria of California is deemed to be held in trust and to provide for the conduct of certain activities on the land
• Nominations to be Members of the Board of Trustees, Institute of American Indian and Alaska Native Culture and Arts Development
