Gover 'excited' about Black Indians exhibit

The Cherokee Freedmen controversy won't be aired at the National Museum of the American Indian anytime soon but incoming director Kevin Gover says an exhibit on Black Indians is in the works.
"I'm really excited about that," Gover said on National Public Radio. "I think it's going to be fascinating."
Gover said the exhibit will show how American Indians and African-Americans have been intertwined throughout history. "We're all related," he said.
The Freedmen dispute, on the other hand, is one better left to Congress and the courts for now, Gover said.
"The first impressions are being formed now and they're played out in the political world where they belong," he said.
Gover takes over the museum on December 2.
